Circular walk around Littlebeck and Falling Foss
A circular walk starting in the Forestry Commission car park near to Falling Foss. The waterfall is soon reached, whose 30 foot drop can be quite spectacular after heavy rain. The walk continues on to Littlebeck affording views of the surrounding countryside. From Littlebeck, the coast to coast path is followed back towards Falling Foss through Little Beck Wood Nature Reserve, passing the Hermitage at the top of the wooded gorge.

Circular walk around Rievaulx Abbey
A circular walk starting from Rievaulx Abbey in the North York Moors National Park. Rievaulx Abbey was completed in 1175 and was the first big Cistercian church to be built in England. After exploring the ruins of Rievaulx Abbey and the terrace above, head towards Rievaulx before crossing Bow Bridge to enter into Ashberry Wood. The path is followed through the wood, which affords further views of the Abbey and terrace, before returning back to the Abbbey via a short road section.

Circular walk around Whitby Abbey, Lighthouse and Saltwick Bay
A circular walk from the seaside town of Whitby. The walk climbs and heads away from the town to head along to Whitby Lighthouse. The walk along the clifftop past Saltwick Bay affords wonderful sea and cliff views. The walk then heads back in to Whitby via the historic ruins of Whitby Abbey and then down the 199 steps back in to town.

Circular walk from Byland Abbey via Mount Snever Observatory
This circular walk starts in front of Byland Abbey. Byland Abbey was started in 1177 by the Savigny monks, a reforming branch of the Benedictines. From the abbey, the walk heads into Wass and then follows a track through a wood for about one mile to reach Mount Snever Observatory (a now disused stone tower) before descending to Oldstead and heading back to the Abbey.

Walk around Castle Howard Grounds
A walk around the grounds of Castle Howard, a magnificent stately home 15 miles from York. The courtyard, rose garden, boar garden, Ray wood, Temple of Venus and the Great Lake are just some of the highlights on the walk.

Walk around the York City Walls
A circular walk around the perimeter of the old city in York following the remains of the original city walls. The walk can be started anywhere along the route and broken off at any point to explore the city's many fine teas shops for a break!
